Privacy Policy
SafeSpend is built so your money stays your business. This page explains exactly what that means.
Last updated 22 September 2026
- No account. No sign-up, no email, no password.
- No bank login. You type your own numbers.
- Your money data stays on your device. We never receive it.
- No ads, no usage tracking.
- SafeSpend itself collects no data. The only data that leaves your device is purchase history, which RevenueCat keeps to confirm your subscription. It isn’t linked to you and isn’t used for tracking.
What SafeSpend stores, and where
To work out your number, SafeSpend keeps what you enter: your balance, pay cycle and payday, bills, savings target, safety buffer, the expenses you log, and your preferences.
All of it is stored on your device, in SafeSpend’s own app storage. It is shared only with SafeSpend’s own widgets and Apple Watch app. Your iPhone and Apple Watch sync directly with each other through Apple’s WatchConnectivity; nothing passes through a server of ours. We don’t run servers that hold your data, so we can’t see it, sell it or lose it.
Like other app data, it can be included in your own iPhone backups (to iCloud or a computer), which Apple handles under its privacy policy.
What SafeSpend does not collect
- No name, email address, phone number or account of any kind.
- No bank credentials. SafeSpend never connects to your bank.
- No usage tracking and no advertising.
- No tracking of any kind, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
- No location, contacts or photos.
Typing expenses in plain words
When you type something like “coffee 4, lunch 12”, SafeSpend splits it into expenses on your device, using Apple’s on-device language tools. The text isn’t sent anywhere.
Purchases and RevenueCat
SafeSpend Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details.
To know whether Pro is active, SafeSpend uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription service. RevenueCat receives purchase and receipt information from Apple and an anonymous app user ID created for this purpose. It does not receive your balance, bills, expenses or anything else you enter in SafeSpend. RevenueCat’s handling of this information is described in its privacy policy.
This purchase history is the only data that leaves your device. It isn’t linked to your identity and isn’t used for tracking. On the App Store it’s listed as Purchases: Purchase History, not linked to you.
We also see anonymous totals from it, such as how many people subscribe or cancel, to understand how SafeSpend is doing.
This is the only time SafeSpend uses the network. The budgeting itself works offline.
Notifications
Payday, bill, free-trial and evening check-in reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. They aren’t sent from a server. You can turn them off in SafeSpend or in iOS Settings.
If you email us
If you choose to email us feedback, we receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply and improve SafeSpend.
Your control
- Export: Profile → Export as CSV gives you a copy of your data.
- Erase: Profile → Erase All Data removes your balance, spending and bills from your iPhone.
- Delete the app and its data is removed from your device.
Apart from any emails you send us, we don’t hold your data, so there is nothing else for us to delete or hand over on our side.
Children
SafeSpend doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If SafeSpend ever started collecting data, we would say so here first, plainly.
